Austin-Healey Club USA 2010 Rendezvous June 28 - July 2, 2010 – The anticipation, planning, email traffic, and phone calls amongst the Rendezvous Committee are all at an intense level these days. The dates of this major Healey event begin in less than three weeks from today’s date. The Rendezvous Committee is holding one last meeting in Eugene on June 14th. We will conduct a walk through of the Valley River Inn checking on facilities, discuss planned activities and schedules. We want to be sure we haven’t missed something. At the present time we have received 110 registrations. This compares with the 2009 registration of approximately 65-70. Furthermore, we may see several more last minute registrations. The event being hosted by our AHCO has all the ingredients for a fantastic meet. I need to alert the members of the AHCO About something that may occur during the Rendezvous. You may be asked to help the Committee members with the wide variety of tasks the event will present. Also, if a visiting Healeyphile asks a question you can’t answer grab one of the Committee members for an answer. Most of the time we’ll be easy to spot as we will be wearing a Committee shirt. Several of us will head to Eugene on Sunday June 27 to begin set up for registration and other preparations for arrivals from three countries and 9 or 10 states. Then let the fun begin. It will be time to PARTAY!!
Portland Historic Races, July 9-12 – Activities Director, John Carter, tells me we have eight members registered for the Portland Historic Races. In past years registered car owners were required to have their vehicles parked in the Club corral by 10:00 AM on the first day. This can result in a significant line of cars waiting at the gate to cross the track into the infield. The earlier you can get there, the shorter the oine will be. Please note that the Historic Races are scheduled for the second Saturday of July. Therefore, the Club meeting date has been moved one week. In the past we have tried to conduct at the race track but we found it too noisy from a meeting

Note that the tour is scheduled for the third Saturday due to the Historic Races, which are held on the 2nd Saturday. The tour will be a tour through the Tualatin Valley area. Bring a picnic lunch for the meeting sight. Check the website for more details.
