I have mailed out tickets to those who prepaid for the July Historic Races at PIR. If you paid and have not received your tickets please call John at 503-579-6599.

August 7th Tour
Aug. 7th, 2010 Mt. St. Helens Tour and BBQ
Which route is dependent on snow melt and road conditions.
If Windy Ridge road is open, we will meet and leave Morton at 11:00.(Still closed to date.) If not, we will be going to Johnson Ridge, leaving Toledo at 11:00.
Decision will be made by mid July which route we will be taking.(Cascade Club leaves Renton Starbucks at 8:00)Bring a picnic lunch, we will stop along the way to enjoy the scenery and eat.
(Not many stores or cafes along the way to buy it.)Dinner is to be at the Daniels Cabin, in Onalaska at 6:00 PM.

Steve Pike Hires a New Driver
The attached picture was recently made available to the AHCO. A little known new driver is apparently being trained for Pike’s streamliner. Note the driver instruction manual located on the bonnet. 
2010 Columbia River Concours d’Elegance, Aug.21-22

Mark’s Memo – June 10, 2010
AHCO Tour and Meeting June12 – The tour and AHCO members meeting will be hosted by Wanda and Michael Hartfield. We will meet at the former Sherwood GI Joes parking lot on Hwy 99 (sort of behind the McDonalds). Meeting time is 10:00 AM. The tour will depart at 10:30. The tour will be approximately 60 miles in length and pass through the Dundee, Amity, Dayton vicinity with a stop at the Amity Vineyard Winery where we will enjoy a sampling of the wines. There is a $5.00 charge for the wine tasting. We will continue the tour on to the Hartfields home for lunch and the meeting There will be a short Executive Board meeting prior to the general membership meeting. the later meeting will start at 3:15 PM. Portland Historic Races, July 9-12
The 2010 Baxter Auto Part Portland Historic Races, July 9 – 12, 2010 held at Portland International Raceway, features an annual entry list of more than 250 prestigious historic race cars, representing a wide variety of manufacturers. The restored cars are divided into groups according to make, age and horsepower, where they are raced at high speeds close to or at their full potential. This year the featured marque is Alfa Romeo. Boasting an open paddock, the Portland Historic Races allow enthusiasts the opportunity to see race cars up close and interact with the drivers and crew. The event also features a display of more than 700 collector cars and hot rods, a food and wine pavilion, a kid zone, an autocross, and a vendor midway. Read more »

Mark your social calendar for a Healey Club event on Saturday, July 17 for a tour and picnic. Details will follow.
On Saturday, August 7th we are planning a joint event with the Cascade Club for a BBQ and tour in Morton,WA. Staying overnight will be optional. Details will follow.

Rendezvous News - I need to alert Club members to a couple of important Rendezvous matters which may require their attention. First, the Eugene, OR Rendezvous begins in eight weeks!! If you are planning to attend theRendezvous please register with Bill Bolton. Use the form available on the Club website, http://Healey-Oregon.org. If you want to purchase Rendezvous regalia, please use the registration form to order the items in advance so sufficient supplies will be available. Second, if you intend to stay at the Valley River Inn you need to be aware that rooms featuring the reduced Rendezvous rate are now very limited and are being reserved at an rapid rate. As of this weekend there are only ten rooms remaining. Please call the Valley River Inn today and get your rooms reserved (Phone: (541-743-1000). Once the block of rooms is filled other Valley River Inn rooms may still be available but they will not be at the special Rendezvous rate. Third, if you already have your room reserved but have not sent your Rendezvous registration to Bill Bolton, please do so ASAP. The Rendezvous Committee is trying to keep track of all the event components. It is helpful when the numbers of event registrations and accomodation reservations match. Please don’t wait until you arrive in Eugene to register.
Club Activities
May 15 – This is the final reminder. Note the date is the third Saturday of the month. The May tour to Longview, WA is a day trip to Bill and Nancy Boylan’s country home outside of Longview. We will have a B-B-Q weather permitting and if it is raining we’ll come up with something else. The Boylan’s address is 549 – Diebert Ave. Lonview, WA. Their phone number is 360-425-7014, and email is wnboylan@msn.com. Please take special note — If you are planning to partake of the Boylan’s hospitality please call or email with an RSVP. Club Vice President, John Wilson, will be leading a tour from Portland to Longview. The tour will assemble in the Fred Meyer parking lot located on Cornelius Pass Road on the south side of the Sunset Highway at 09:00 AM Saturday. Departure time will be 09:15 AM . The Club business meeting will convene at 2:00 PM at the Boylans.

June 12th AHCO Meeting
June 12th Tour and Meeting will be hosted by Wanda and Micheal Hartfield.
We will meet at the G.I. Joes parking lot in Sherwood (kind of behind the McDonald’s just off Hwy. 99) at 10:00 a.m. and plan to leave at 10:30.
The tour will be approximately 60 miles long and will be around the Parrot Mountain, Yamhill, Lafayette, Dundee, Amity and Dayton area with a stop at the Amity Vineyard Winery where we will enjoy a sampling of their wines. (There is a $5.00 charge for the wine tasting).
We will continue the tour on to the Hartfield’s home for lunch and the meeting.
Lunch will be around 2:00 so you may want to pack a light snack which can be enjoyed at a viewpoint picnic table at the vineyard.
The meeting is planned for about 3:15.
Please notify the Hartfield’s if you plan to attend so they can plan the food.
